What is Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening or teeth bleaching is a cosmetic dental procedure that helps you to tackle issues of staining. Professional teeth whitening service is extremely safe and reliable and gives the best and long-lasting results. Bleaching products are used by your Greeley dentist and can be adjusted according to your requirements. There are several other benefits of in-office teeth whitening. You can use home remedies as well. But you won’t have a similar amount of control in that case. However, it is best to stay away from certain food and beverages to get the best results.
Food Items To Stay Away From After Teeth Whitening
Now that we have a clear understanding of what teeth whitening is, let us find out which food items to stay away from.
Food With Dyes
Several sports drinks and popsicles contain dyes that could stain your teeth. Your teeth could stain easily right after you have bleached them. So it is best to stay away from food items and beverages that contain dyes, both natural and artificial.
Acidic Food & Beverages
You must stay away from acidic food and beverages right after your bleaching procedure. The bleach makes your enamel weak and consuming acidic food items can lead to enamel erosion. Refrain from drinking acidic fruit juices and fizzy beverages during this time. Acidic foods such as pickles and processed meats are also a big no-no. The high sugar content and the acid are a classic recipe for disaster for your newly whitened teeth.
Dark Colored Fruits
Avoid eating dark-colored fruits such as blueberries and blackberries after your whitening procedure. They contain pigments that can reverse the effects of whitening. In order to maintain your pearly whites, you must stay away from them.
Beverages That Have A Dark Hue
Anything that can stain your white shirt can stain your teeth as well. Stay away from beverages that have a darker shade such as tea, coffee, red wine, and even your hot chocolate. After your whitening procedure with your Greeley dentist, it is best to avoid these drinks. Your newly whitened teeth can take on their hue easily. Moreover, caffeinated drinks can reverse the effects of the bleaching procedure and turn your teeth yellow. If you cannot stay without your morning dose of coffee then it is best to use a straw. Avoid swishing the liquid in your mouth.
Dark Sauces
Can’t stay without your marinara and tomato sauces? Well, dark-colored sauces can such as tomato and soy sauce can stain your teeth and ruin your appearance. Tomatoes have a high acid content and can lead to extensive damage and decay. Minimize your consumption of dark sauces if you want to maintain your pearly whites.
